Adult, Children & Young People’s Counsellor

BACP No. 187705

I believe every person holds unique worth and potential, and that within each of us lies a beauty waiting to be discovered. My journey through life has taken me across a wide range of personal and professional experiences, all of which deeply inform my work as a counsellor. I bring warmth, curiosity, and understanding into the counselling room, creating a safe space where you can feel truly seen and heard.

My background in fostering offered me invaluable insight into the emotional and mental health needs of children and teenagers, particularly those navigating attachment difficulties. This experience led me to pursue additional training, including the foundational PACE Training in DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy)—a model built on Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy, developed by Dr. Vicky Sutton.

Proffessional Background

My counselling journey has taken me into various settings, including the Turnaround Project with Relate, where I supported women and children affected by domestic abuse. I’ve also worked within both primary and secondary schools, offering support to young people—including those referred by CAMHS. Additionally, I have experience supporting individuals in recovery from addiction, having counselled in a residential drug and alcohol service.

I’m especially passionate about helping others discover their inner strengths and resources, empowering them to live authentically and with purpose. While I enjoy working with clients of all ages, I have a particular affinity for supporting teenagers through what can often be a turbulent time. As a mum of four, I’ve lived through the ups and downs of adolescence, and that experience has been one of my most valuable teachers.

Now a proud Nana to four young grandchildren, I also have a deep interest in health and wellness. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me in the kitchen exploring new plant-based recipes or diving into the latest research on natural healing and holistic wellbeing.
